In collaboration with our strategic partners, Meinhardt, we embarked on a competition for Network Rail to propose a dynamic reimagining of the footbridge, reflecting both Network Rail's legacy and its forward-thinking vision. While rail infrastructure has advanced with high-tech solutions, the footbridge has remained outdated, with its once beautiful woven lattice structures replaced by generic, flat designs. Our proposal reactivates the footbridge, offering a more exciting, accessible transition between platforms while embracing the pioneering spirit of British Railway engineering.

Inspired by the simplicity of a rope bridge, our tensioned design adapts to future needs, with splayed tension cables promoting pedestrian flow and responsive spaces. This modular approach uses translucent concrete and steel to provide a unique experience, improving safety and accessibility for all travellers.
